Our first Tallinn Erasmus+ course is over. It was a very intensive week. We had lovely weather, great food and wonderful lecturers!
We started on Thursday morning with a guided tour at the Museum of Occupation, then lunch break at MEKK. In the afternoon Carlos V. A. del Castillo gave us a lecture on the Estonian e-Society. Afterwards we visited the KUMU Art Museum - fantastic architecture and several great exhibitions!
On the next day the INNOVE Foundation helped us to understand the basics of the Estonian educational system and why Estonia has been no. 1 when it comes to the last PISA studies! Lunch break at Pirosmani - Georgian food! A visit at the Tallinna Saksa Gümnaasium: How does the reality looks like, the daily practice, when it comes to teaching? The day ended with a walk throughout the Old Town of Tallinn.
Day 3 was centered around the ecology of Estonian in the 21st century - How do you survive as a small nation? - and the importance of music within the Estonian educational system ... singing old runic Estonian melodies included. And we had the best food ever: F-hoone - highly recommended! All these activities took place at the creative campus of Telliskivi.
I guess you can say that the Estonia is unique within Europe. Especially the educational system and the society. We hope to offer this course in the near future again. The full program is available on request.
